Who is Pitbull?
Armando Christian Pérez, known by the stage name Pitbull or Mr. Worldwide, is an American rapper. Pitbull was born on January 15, 1981 in Miami, Florida. Of all the success and fame he enjoys and relishes today, his childhood was just the contrary. He attended high school in Miami, where he worked on developing his rap skills. Armando Perez chose the stage name Pitbull because the dogs are constant fighters and “too stupid to lose.” She graduated from Coral Park High School. After graduating, he became determined to pursue a career in rapping.
Once Armando met Lil Jon in Miami, and made appearance in the Kings of Crunk album in 2002. His song ‘Oye’ also featured in 2 Fast 2 Furious movie in 2003. His debut album M.I.A.M.I. was released in 2004, which became a hit on Billboard Hot 200, followed by El Mariel in 2006, and The Boatlift in 2007. He released Rebelution in 2009, some singles of which reached the top 10 Billboard Hot 100. Pitbull dedicated “El Mariel” to his father, who died in May 2006 before the album’s release in October. Other albums released by Pitbull include Armando in 2010, Planet Pit in 2011, Global Warming in 2012, and single ‘Wild Wild Love’ in 2014.
In addition to contributing towards the music industry, Pitbull has also featured in a number of advertising campaigns and product endorsements, including Voli Vodka, Endemol, Kodak, Walmart and Bud Light. In 2015, he launched Pitbull’s Globalization Radio, a new radio station on Sirius XM Radio. Pitbull has appeared on many albums of other hip hop artists, and is known worldwide for mixing Latin flavors with dance and hip hop music. Pitbull has recorded hundreds of songs and has sold more than 70 million singles, with No. 1 hits in more than 15 countries. He’s performed in over 50 countries for millions of people.
With the international embrace of “Give Me Everything” hitting the Top 10 around the world and No. 1 in many different countries, Pitbull adopted the nickname “Mr. Worldwide.”
Pitbull created a unique niche in rap music for a Latin superstar. He is a trailblazer for future Latin artists who rap instead of sing. He is also a shrewd businessman, providing an example for other Latin musicians who wish to cross over into the pop mainstream.
